A Quick Bathroom Update

We continue to progress very slowly with our bathroom renovation. I can report that the painting of the walls, ceiling and trim is complete. We have now turned to other things.

Here is a sneak peek at a couple of things that I worked on last weekend and hope to finish this weekend.

Spray painting bathroom fixtures

This project has been dragging on, and we are all in danger of losing interest. Our faithful inspector has already given up on us, preferring to nap.

Sleeping cat

That was at least until Douglas snaked the shower drain to figure out why it was draining so slowly. Crème came racing in to make sure that he was doing it correctly.

Snaking the drain

It seemed that a small rodent had drowned in the tub, but it may have only been a clump of my hair. These are the things that I probably should not share on the internet, but do anyway. C’est la vie. Mine anyway.

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. 1. Glad you retrieved the clump before it really clogged you up. I’m convinced clogs in the bathtub have something to do with solid bars of soap so I insist on liquid (Bronner’s) soap. Charlie is not amused but it does seem to keep the clogs at bay. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

    • I agree with you. Not only does it cut down on clogs, but there is also less soap scum buildup on the shower curtain and walls. We only use liquid soap, but I have too much hair to avoid clogs altogether.

  2. Jessica all that hair is not just yours! We have a bath and separate shower cubicle, the shower is used daily and the plug is removable. I clean it daily and believe me its not just my hairs down the drain! The boys are to blame too x
