An Introduction

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more.

Portrait in Ireland

In January 2010, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself.

I lived in the house with my faithful companion, Freckles the Freak.   She was 14 ½ years old when we moved in and completely blind in her old age.

Frequent visitors were Douglas and his dog Sambuca, another old lady.

Since then, a great deal has changed in our lives. Both Freckles and Sambuca have gone to the big dog park in the sky. Douglas and I made our union official in a wedding ceremony June 28, 2012.

We also adopted Kahlua, the dog and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream?

We have completed many projects in our house and have many more that we would like to complete. We do most of the work ourselves, for as little money as possible. One of my favorite hobbies is to search garage sales and trash piles for “treasures” to decorate my home.  The purpose of this blog is to share these projects with others. I hope that my creations inspire you to design your own.

Happy Homemaking!

    • Thanks Kathy! I always have lots of projects going on. I just hope that I keep up with the blog. Having followers will help keep me on task. It is always easier when I know that someone is going to notice.

  1. I loved reading this! We have a lot in common. I think next trip we meet up, we should go antiquing <- is that correct spelling? Or flea market!! 🙂
