Beginning to Bloom

Things are finally starting to bloom in the yard. Spring has sprung.

I have spent hours in the yard since the weather warmed up last week.

The most important task is to clear the leaves out of the garden beds.

I have made progress, but there is still more to do.

My mother also gave me some flowers while we were visiting for Easter.

The pansies and violas do not look so great because the deer munched on them while they were on her back porch.

I also dug up some snowdrops from the woods behind her house. They do not look so great because they spent a couple of days in my trunk.

The snowdrops do not look much better in the yard right now, but they are going to look amazing next spring. I spread them all around.

There are lots of flowers that are looking good, however, and over the next couple weeks there are going to be more every day.

About

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. 1. Your garden is looking lovely. I think it is a very clever idea to use mirrors as there reflection makes your garden look even bigger. X

  2. You must be so happy to see blooms after the winter you’ve endured! We should have a nice weekend, so I’ve got to get out there and clean up gardens! The weeds have taken over already. Back-breaking is right!
