Chaise Lounge – Kitten Tested, Puppy Approved

A couple of weeks ago, I introduced you to the new and improved Curb Sale Chaise Lounge.

However, that is not the only chaise lounge we own. You may remember that I bought this piece at a garage sale last summer with my mother. We did not need another chair, but I seem to be addicted to unique and affordable seating options. Plus, my mother is a bad influence. She talked me into buying it.

I brought it home and covered it in an old moving blanket until I decided what to do with it. It quickly became a preferred place to sit.

On the day that Elizabeth from Ossining Upholstery brought back my newly reupholstered Craigslist couch, we discussed what to do with this chaise. I told her that I wanted red corduroy, and she brought over some samples. I picked one and away went the chaise. Just one week later, she brought it back.

It looks marvelous, if I do say so myself.

I would have liked to have reupholstered it myself, but I would not have been able to get the details so perfect.

It gets two paws up from both of the girls.

Douglas looks comfortable as well.

Slowly but surely the living room is coming together! By the way, the flowers are a Valentine’s gift from Kahlua, Crème and Douglas. Sunflowers mixed with red roses and purple tulips. They know me well!

Update: I  forgot to let you know what this project cost. I paid $25 for the chaise at a garage sale. The upholstery cost me $370. That price included the fabric as well as pick up and delivery. I am really happy with this chair for $395.

Happy Homemaking!

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. 1. I’ve always loved this piece. It was a great find! The new upholstery looks great and I never would have thought to do corduroy. It’s AWESOME!
Love how every family member had to have their time on the new chaise. I hope you got one too! It’s great, Jessica.

    • Thank you, Stacey! I chose corduroy because I thought that it would be easier to mix in another shade of red if it were a different texture. I think that it worked out well. I have one more chair that is being reupholstered, and then I am going to share more shots of the overall room.
