We Have a Child!
Meet the newest member of the Cape of Dreams. This is Alex. He is fifteen and is living with us for the summer.
I know that I owe you an explanation of all of the disasters that occurred in our house last week. I am also behind in posting the projects that we have been working on. However, my grandmother came back from Maryland with us to visit for a few days, and Alex had also arrived the day before I returned. We have been busy with projects and family time, but I have not been on the computer hardly at all.
This week, we are on Long Island visiting family, celebrating birthdays and enjoying the beach. “Normal life” will resume next week, and I will begin posting more frequently again. In the meantime, enjoy your 4th of July and have a wonderful weekend.

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house.
