Giveaway! – ¡Un sorteo!

Since the beginning of the school year, I have been playing with one of the art teachers at school. The last time that I had used the pottery wheel was when I was twelve years old, and it has been fun to rediscover it.

My pottery turned out better than I had expected. I guess it was better than Douglas expected as well, because when I brought it home he exclaimed, “That’s like stuff you would see in a store!” I am not an expert, but the bowls are well shaped.

What I am not yet able to do is to replicate a style of bowl. Each one comes out as an original. It would be great to have a set, but what I have is more like similar collections of colors.

The pottery has been fun to make, but I am not sure where to put it all. I was pondering that, when I had an idea. Why not give it away? However, I only want to give my pieces to people that want them. I am not going to foist them on anyone!

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. Send me an email with your address and let me know which of the two you prefer. I definitely think that #5 would match better with the colors in your house.

They are all lovely. The variation in colors, the “drips”, the pretty shapes. Just wanted to compliment your pieces.
