Today Douglas and I celebrate anotherΒ anniversary as a married couple.Β Three years ago today, we wereΒ experiencing magic surrounded by our family and friends.

No, we have not officially separated, although there were some moments last week when I briefly contemplated it. Instead it is merely a work-related, four-day separation as he left at six o’clock this morning to lead a group of middle school students up Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in NY, or at least attempt to do so.

We celebrated our anniversary yesterday. I know that you must be dying to see what I made him.

Moccasins! I thought that it would be awesome to make him shoes, as my friend Alex suggested here. I will give you a whole post about how I made them soon.

The funny thing is that he bought a similar kit to make me moccasins as well. However, he did not finish them in time. He also gave me a bookmark and a key chain.

Happy Anniversary, Darling!

I am a teacher, traveler, artist, writer, homemaker and a whole lot more. In January 2009, I bought the Cape of Dreams. It was the second house that I had ever owned, but it was the first that I bought by myself. I now live in the house with my husband Douglas, our dog Kahlua, and Crème de Menthe, the cat. Because, what life is complete without a little Kahlua and Cream? I love arts and crafts of all kinds, and I refinish furniture as well. We are slowly redoing our entire house. You can read about my projects on my blog www.CapeofDreams.com

  1. So cool. Especially that you both thought of the same thing. I received slippers/moccasins for Christmas which I’ve pushed through the lacing at the toe. You make me think a repair is doable. Happy Anniversary. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

    • Great minds think alike, right? I would think that you should be able to get a new lace and re-lace them. It really was not that hard. I will try to do the how-to post soon.
